Arrival of Searoad Mersey II

The new era of Tasmania’s clean, green

Bass Strait freight connection to the

mainland and the world is imminent.

She’s on her way home!

We’re excited to confirm that Searoad Mersey II has left Fremantle on the last leg of its delivery voyage from Europe to our home port, Devonport.

We currently expect our new pride and joy to sail up the Mersey River sometime between 8.30 am and 9.30 am on Sunday morning to berth at our East Devonport terminal. Good views of Searoad Mersey II arriving will be available from both banks of the river.

On Monday our original Searoad Mersey will be berthed behind the newcomer, so you’ll be able to see just what a leap forward Searoad Mersey II is in size and capability.

We plan to sail Searoad Mersey II on its first regular voyage to Melbourne late afternoon on Wednesday, thus introducing a new era of clean, green shipping to Bass Strait. Soon our ship will be a familiar sight, keeping Tasmania connected to the mainland and the world.

On Sunday December 18 we are holding a Public Open Day on Searoad Mersey II at our East Devonport terminal between 12 pm and 5 pm. You’ll be able to inspect the freight decks, see displays and get information from SeaRoad staff and ship’s crew. Look out for more information about this unique opportunity!
